Assembly and use should be simple. The best PCP rifles have intuitive loading (magazine), easy access to the filling port and clear adjustments for power and rebound. This means you spend less time on setup and more time on what matters: aiming, seeing and acting. Battery life, maintenance and spare parts availability are also worth considering — in the field you want to avoid minor technical problems, so keep an eye on materials and finishes.

For hunting, noise, recoil and balance are important parameters. Many choose PCP because the recoil is low and follow-up shots are easier to handle. Choose the caliber and barrel that suits your hunting style, and think about weight and length if you do a lot of stalking. If you use a scope or clip-on, make sure the system matches the rifle's rail and balance.
